Fresh Perspective and New Leadership for Our Community
My name is Lisa Lohmeyer and I was born and raised in Woodstock, IL. I am currently 29 years old and have lived in the community since 1989 as do my parents, Luke and Ellen (Frisbie) Lohmeyer. I also have two older brothers, Greg and Brad. Together our extended families have been involved in farming, education, insurance, and small business ownership. The education I received growing up here has been invaluable.
After attending Woodstock High School and graduating in 2007, I attended Illinois Wesleyan University. At Wesleyan I majored in Business Management and Marketing and had the opportunity to study abroad for a semester in Milan, Italy. This experience was invaluable because it gave me another cultural perspective but also an appreciation of my life at home and at school back in Illinois. While in Milan, I was also able to focus on finance as an area of study. After graduating, I worked in two very different industries. For a couple of years, I managed promotional events and helped create marketing material for a local nutraceutical company. After that I joined the auto industry, where my primary responsibilities were teaching and training in the Business Development Department for a multi-state dealership group.
In 2016 I made a conscious decision to return to the community and work in the family business, Frisbie & Lohmeyer Insurance. Woodstock’s strong sense of community combined with the opportunity to support its residents, while learning and growing professionally among family appealed greatly to me. To further put down roots here, I bought a house and continue to get involved in my community. Serving on the Promote Woodstock Advisory Board has been a great experience combining my love for Woodstock with my experience in marketing. I am dedicated to the City of Woodstock and hope to be part of its continued growth.
